Construction to commence on The Quarter

October 9, 2023 | Projects

Sod turning and smoking ceremonies have marked the commencement of construction for The Quarter – a new mixed use, multi-storey development in the heart of Wodonga.

The sod turning honours were undertaken by Director of Criterion Property Group, John Mooney, Mayor of Wodonga, Ron Mildren, and General Manager of Southern Region and ACT for Paynter Dixon, Kirk Bolte (pictured above).

The smoking ceremony was performed by Duduroa and Yorta Yorta man, Johnny Murray.

As the Head Contractor, Paynter Dixon is overseeing design finalisation and construction for Criterion Property Group with expected completion in May 2025.

Located in the epicentre of Wodonga, The Quarter will provide a vibrant hub in one of Australia’s fastest growing regional cities.

Mr Bolte said Paynter Dixon’s unwavering commitment to safety and quality would deliver the project in line with client expectations.

He added: “Paynter Dixon has always maintained a strong presence delivering projects in regional areas and we look forward to engaging with local tradespeople, suppliers and the broader community.”

Project details:

  • The North Building will comprise 1,500m2 of ground floor retail and commercial space, 4 storeys of residential apartments and a basement carpark.
  • The South Building will comprise 2,500m2 of commercial space over 3 levels.
  • A landscaped and communal open space will occupy the centre of the site. Visual sight lines will connect to open space on the facing side of Elgin Boulevard.
