Residential Gardens for Spanish Speaking Frail Aged

A unique design and construct aged-care project including dementia and respite facilities.

Residential Gardens is a unique organisation, with its commitment to the elderly with a Spanish background.

When it engaged Paynter Dixon to design and construct an 84-bed facility at Rooty Hill in Sydney’s west, it had a specific brief.

The project was based on the concept of ageing in one place.

Secure dementia and respite care facilities were included in the plans to ensure residents could receive the care they needed on site.

The design also reflected the cultural background of residents – Spanish colours were incorporate along with an alfresco area in the central courtyard.

Paynter Dixon completed the project in two stages to minimise disruption.
