Toongabbie Christian College – New Primary School

Paynter Dixon is undertaking the design and construction of a new 3-storey primary school building for Toongabbie Christian College in Western Sydney.

The College is a co-educational Christian school catering to more than 970 students from Kindergarten through to Year 12.

Building on 40-plus years of sustained growth, the College has committed to upgrading and building new facilities to meet the needs of current and future students. The new structure will connect to an existing adjacent building to form the primary school precinct.

For the first time, all primary school students will be located in one building.

The new building will comprise of 23 classrooms, administration, and support areas:

  • Ground floor
    • 3 kindergarten classrooms
    • Reception area, uniform shop, and 2 meeting rooms
    • Administration facilities
    • Learning enrichment room
    • College journey room with school memorabilia
  • First floor
    • 3 classrooms per First, Second, Third and Fourth Year (12 in total)
    • English as a second language and learning support
  • Second floor
    • 4 classrooms per Fifth and Sixth Year (8 in total)
    • Outdoor play area located on the roof terrace
  • Colour-themed floors and interior palette inspired by the College logo

Design has facilitated visual connectivity and site lines within the building to aid teaching staff and subtly reinforce the notion of community to the student body.
