MBA awards praise Paynter Dixon’s ‘quality and workmanship’

November 9, 2023 | Projects

The quality of Paynter Dixon’s project delivery has garnered two major awards at the Master Builders Associations NSW 2023 Excellence in Construction Awards.

Petersham RSL Club Fit Out: ‘Construction (Commercial), Interior Fitouts, $8 Million – $10 Million’

Paynter Dixon oversaw the fit out of the new RSL which features restaurants, indoor and outdoor gaming lounges, an auditorium and day spa. Patrons enter an elegant marble foyer, before venturing further into a stylish interior environment that impresses with the use of premium and imported materials, from hand-pressed mosaic tiles to velvet and suede finishes.

The delivery team were resourceful and diligent in overcoming challenges, including a shortage of materials during the COVID pandemic, and conducting the fit out on the ground floor of a multi-storey residential building while construction occurred above.

The award citation noted:

“This [fit out] has given the local area a club with increased membership which reflects the ambience created with detailed and quality workmanship.”

St Vincent’s Hospital Hybrid Theatre & Endoscopy Suite: ‘Construction (Commercial), Health Buildings – Refurbishment, Up to $10 Million’

Paynter Dixon demolished two operating theatres and ancillary rooms in order to reconstruct a new layout for the Hybrid Theatre, integrating state-of-the-art medical operating equipment. The team was also responsible for overseeing the refurbishment of the endoscopy procedure rooms.

For both projects, works were staged across an environment which remained sterile, live and operational during both construction and the commissioning of services within each of these stages. To further minimise disruption, our team implemented systems for infection control, waste removal,  and other environmental considerations – including the monitoring  of noise, vibration and dust.

The award citation noted:

“As a result of the cooperative efforts the project has been successfully delivered. Completed in a challenging environment, resulting in a well finished quality outcome for the hospital.”
