Paynter Dixon has marked its return to Queensland, with leading developer Walker Corporation appointing the company to build its landmark SOL by Walker project on the Sunshine Coast.

Located in the heart of Maroochydore, SOL by Walker will deliver 248 luxury residences across two striking 19-storey towers, complemented by premium commercial offices and vibrant ground-floor retail.

Paynter Dixon CEO and Executive Chairman James Boyd said the company was proud to re-establish its presence in Queensland.

“We are delighted to have been awarded this iconic project in one of the fastest growing regions of Queensland,” Mr Boyd said.

“Walker Corporation has an unrivalled reputation for delivering projects that set a new benchmark, and we look forward to expanding our relationship through SOL.”

This is the second major project Walker Corporation has awarded to Paynter Dixon, which is also delivering the Riverlea Shopping Centre in South Australia.

“With a proud history spanning more than 110 years in Australia, Paynter Dixon is a pioneer in Design and Construction and maintains long-standing relationships with key construction partners.”

Paynter Dixon will open a new Maroochydore office cementing its Queensland comeback and creating a base for future landmark projects.

The company is committed to using local labour, with the project expected to create 2,000 jobs.

Senior Project Engineer Amberlie Andrejic said the Maroochydore City Centre was giving construction professionals valuable opportunities close to home.

“Many of us love being part of large-scale projects like SOL but often have to travel to Brisbane – spending two hours each way on the Bruce Highway,” she said.

“Now, with more major projects coming to the Sunshine Coast, there’s a strong and growing pipeline of work for engineers, trades and suppliers right here in our own community.”

SOL by Walker marks the beginning of a new chapter for Paynter Dixon in Queensland, as the company continues to grow its presence in high-growth regions across the East Coast.
