Many hands make light work at ESSC working bee

August 28, 2020 | Corporate

The End Street Sleeping Collaboration (ESSC) has moved into a new home thanks to a helping hand from a team of organisations including Paynter Dixon and the PAYCE Foundation.

Members from both organisations were instrumental in coordinating service providers, cleaning the premises, moving and installing office furniture.

The PAYCE Foundation is the founding philanthropic partner of the ESSC, a collective impact project that aims to halve rough sleeping across NSW by 2025.

Located in the heart of the city, the new offices shared by ESSC and Catholic Care employees, will be the collaborations new training and administration hub.

PAYCE Foundation Director Dominic Sullivan said it was important to have the headquarters situated in the heart of Sydney’s CBD.

“It’s a really important milestone to be able to give the collaboration a new home that will be the backbone of ending street sleeping in Sydney and NSW,” Mr Sullivan said.

“Having this space located in Woolloomooloo is a great outcome for the sector.”

Project Manager Mark Robson spoke on behalf of the Paynter Dixon team labelling the project as a great culture -building exercise.

“When we were asked to come in and refurbish an old office we saw it as a great opportunity to get the Paynter Dixon staff involved.” Mr Robson said.

He said without the support of third-party service providers the move couldn’t have progressed as quickly as it did.

“Innovative Transport Solutions, ANE Electrical and All Districts Coatings kindly donated their services to make this job a huge success.”

ESSC Chief Executive Officer Christine McBride was pleased with the outcome and grateful for the overwhelming support.

“I’m so thankful for the support the PAYCE Foundation and Paynter Dixon have given us (ESSC), they’ve donated their time, heart and energy into making this project a reality,” Ms McBride said.

“I’m loving the new space; it’s beautiful and the collaboration between our partners and the City of Sydney has allowed us to get underway in ending street sleeping.”
